Frequently Asked Questions
What equipment does my child need to participate?
Your child must have suitable athletic shoes, shin guards, and a refillable water bottle. We highly recommend that you apply sunscreen prior to the camp as well.
What type of footwear is allowed?
Flat soled athletic shoes are authorized but not recommended. Soccer cleats are the best footwear for our camps. Other types of cleats with a stud in the front like baseball or football cleats are not allowed.
Would it be beneficial to sign my child up for more than one week of camp in the same location?
Each week of camp will be very different. We try to rotate our coaches around for this very reason. If you attend multiple weeks of camp your child will be exposed to different methods, training, and coaching styles.
Do they need to bring a soccer ball?
We will always have enough soccer balls for each participant. We encourage you to leave your soccer balls at home.
Can I drop my child off and pick them up after the session is over?
You may leave your child but please be on time to pick them up as to not interfere with other age groups. We also will not release your child to anyone except a parent, legal guardian, or emergency contact for safety reasons. You know your child, please ensure they are comfortable enough for you to leave. We would rather teach soccer than console crying children!
Do you teach proper heading technique and allow heading of the ball in your soccer camps?
United States Youth Soccer does not allow heading until the 12-U age group, therefore we do not instruct nor allow any of our participants to head during our camps.
How many coaches do your camps have? Will my child ever be alone with one of your coaches?
For safety, each of our soccer camps has a head coach with college playing experience who leads the camp, as well as a high-school aged assistant coach. Your child will NEVER be alone with one of our coaches. Our coaches have been instructed to stay within sight and sound of each other at ALL TIMES.
